- Students are touring the Hatchery; the tour is led by the DHC.
- Outside is explored, and nature of civilization is explained.
- Henry Foster and Lenina Crowne have a "relationship," which is looked down upon; prolonged interaction between members of society is not encouraged. Promiscuity is widespread, and normal. "Everyone belongs to everyone."
- Lenina develops a liking for Bernard Marx.

- Good so far; I like his stance on human nature, and his depictions. I share a lot of the same thoughts about relativity and human nature, and how things could be drastically different as long as they were consistant throughout the individual's lifetime.
